Of Indian origin, Said Adrus was born and grew up in Kampala, ‘British East Africa’. In 1972, his family moved and settled in Switzerland. Said’s own personal migration would take him eventually to London where he studied visual arts. He gained prominence as an artist participating in numerous group shows in the 1980s and early 1990s on the theme of identity and race.
